The final day of the summit offers participants a practical opportunity to observe and engage with real-world grain trade operations through organized field visits across Zanzibar. These visits are designed to complement the summit’s dialogue with hands-on exposure to infrastructure, systems, and innovations supporting the grain value chain in the region.

Delegates will tour key facilities, including Fumba Port, Zanzibar’s national port, and a bulk stream grain handling and storage facility. These sites demonstrate the role of port infrastructure, storage solutions, and logistics coordination in enabling efficient grain movement and trade. Participants will gain firsthand insights into how infrastructural investments and operational practices contribute to food system efficiency, quality assurance, and regional trade competitiveness.

The field visits offer a valuable learning experience that links policy and investment conversations to tangible examples, and reinforces the importance of integrated solutions for resilient grain markets in Africa.
