TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
Delegates travelling to Kampala ,Uganda for the 10TH AGTS will require the following :
- A valid passport.
- An airline ticket (hard copy or e-ticket)
- Valid yellow fever vaccination card. Check whether you need a yellow fever certificate by visiting the National Travel Health Network and Centre’s website. https://travelhealthpro.org/
- A valid visa. Please visit this link to verify if you will require a visa for entry. You should give yourself sufficient time to apply for a visa and make sure when applying that the start date and validity cover the period you wish to travel. You can also apply for an East African Tourist Visa. This is valid for 90 days and allows multiple entry into Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda.
- The authorities in Uganda set and enforce entry rules. For more information about entry requirements, visit the Ugandan Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control
- If unsure how Uganda’s entry requirements apply to you, please contact your embassy, high commission or consulate.The EAGC and the 10th AGTS Secretariat is also on standby to assist where possible.
- It is important to get travel insurance and check that it provides sufficient cover.
- As of 7 March, you are no longer required to show proof of vaccination status or provide a negative COVID-19 PCR test certificate on arrival. We however encourage you to carry your covid 19 vaccination certificate in case you may be requested to present it. If transiting or departing, you should be aware of entry requirements at your final destination.
- Arriving passengers may be subject to temperature checks and will be screened for infectious diseases by the Port Health authorities. If your temperature is above normal or you display COVID-19 symptoms you may be required to take a COVID-19 test. If a foreign national tests positive for COVID-19 and wishes to be repatriated for treatment outside of Uganda, they will be expected to cover the costs themselves.
- The Immigration desk is responsible for boarder management and detection of human and child trafficking. A passenger will be required to present passport for exit visit / stamp, boarding passes and hotel booking. Immigration officers permit the passenger to proceed for travel if they meet the destination requirement and have complied with Uganda's rules and regulations. In case the departing passenger had visited Uganda, they shouldn't have exceeded their issued visa period. If there are any pertinent reasons (non-compliance with any of the requirements), the passenger may be denied exit by immigration, and in that case the airline or Ground Handling agent is informed
- The responsibility of ensuring all travel requirements for origin, transit and destination lies with the passenger as per contract of carriage with the airline - which is the ticket.
- Passengers must seek for additional information from their respective airlines regarding destination travel requirements (as some of these keep changing from time to time or may be beyond what is stated above.)
